Fixing The Problem

In order to fix these problems, both globally and personally, we need to begin with ourselves. One of the first changes that must take place is in our diets. We need to start eating things that supply our bodies with the nutrients they need in order to function properly, including our brains. As was stated before if you aren't getting everything you need for proper functioning of brain and body, you will not only fall prey to degeneration and illness, but the ability of your brain to function as it should will be greatly impaired. If you don't believe this is true, think about the horrors perpetrated by people, such as murder (in all of it's manifestations), torture, war, in short violence in any form (both physical and mental). Do you think violence is an act of a sound mind? By the negative reactions to acts of violence that are observable throughout most of humanity, they are not. How do you know your thought's are not being distorted, because your mind does not have the nutrients it needs to function properly, allowing you to see the proper perceptions of the world around you. So how could you know you are not interacting with others and your environment in the best way possible. If you feel anger, hatred, lust, fear, arrogance, etc., you are not. If you feel these destructive thoughts and emotions, it is possible that these may be caused by deficiencies in your diet, or at least exacerbated by them. You may believe that in certain instances you had anger that was justified, but if you really look at it, has anger ever done you any good? Then what about some of the other emotions mentioned such as hatred, lust, and arrogance. Nothing good has ever come from any of these ego centered emotions, for even if you consider you have won, or prevailed in a situation, such as beating a foe through rage, you have in reality still lost, you became your enemy.

It can be a very sobering experience to learn that all you know or think you know is an illusion. It is even more difficult to sort the real from mere illusion if your brain isn't functioning as it should. Once you have started to deal with these illusions, corrupted thoughts, and lack of cognitive abilities through proper diet and nutrition, then you must also handle errant thought patterns by proper mental disciplines. Through these proper mental disciplines you will come to realize that all of the worst traits of humanity can be bundled together and labeled ego ( arrogance, greed, envy, hatred, deceit, selfishness, fear, lust, anger, vanity, etc.), because each is a part of what we know to be ego. We all have these traits in us whether we want to admit to it or not, some to greater or lesser extents than others.

Some of these traits even have some people believing they don't have any of these traits. This is very common, as most people do not wish to believe they are what they are, while others are completely clueless due to self delusion (they do not think about it at all). The real problem comes in because we choose (because we have not made any changes) to think, speak, and act from the ego perspective, as reflected by the condition of our world. We view ourselves from this perspective also, which is another reason we are no better than we are. If we change, by default the world will change because of it. We are immensely more than we could ever possibly imagine, but yet no more than we believe or choose to be.

There is another perspective we can choose to think, speak, and act from. It is a very different perspective, and some of us do use this perspective at times, but for most of us rarely. This other perspective represents the noblest attributes of humanity. It is called The Love perspective. Some of the attributes of Love are happiness, understanding, patience, self control, peace, and wisdom. It must also be said that Love, real Love, is unconditional, because as soon as you place a condition on Love, it is no longer Love but something that falls under the perspective of the ego (lust, possessiveness, etc.). When you hear " I love him/her because . . . . " and they are basing their feelings on some attribute of that individual, you have just heard them name a condition, whether it is looks, some talent, personality, wealth, the car they drive or whatever. It does not mean Love could not be present, but the question must then be asked, if the person they were attracted to, lost whatever it is that so attracted them, would their feelings remain the same, or would they have even noticed them to begin with? If not, then it was not Love but something else. The only "because" you can use with Love is the statement, "I Love you because I can do no other." Love just is, and cannot, by its very nature, exclude anyone or anything. Love will not do harm to anyone or anything, either. Love can be felt as an emotion, but it is also a force. Love is never rude, nor does it force itself on you. Ego on the other hand is always trying to force itself on you, to make you follow one of its selfish desires. With Love it is always your choice to follow its ways or the ways of the ego. A person with this Love does not boast, or envy what someone else has. Love's actions are always kind and considerate of others. Love is best realized when it is expressed to others, and if you have this Love it will happen naturally. Love is not sex, nor is it to be confused with what we call romantic love. Although what we call romantic love can (not always) lead you to a better understanding and a realization of Love itself.

Through Love we obtain Truth, Humility, Forgiveness, Gratefulness, Peace, Happiness, Patience, Self Control, Understanding, Kindness, Compassion, and Wisdom, none of which are independent of any of the others. All of these things are a part of Love. If one of these parts is missing, it is not Love, but a false imitation developed and learned through the ego mind.

Love Sphere showing all elements within Love

Love is also an entity unto itself, in the respect that it is always there and never changes, because it cannot change.

When we choose to think, speak, and act from the perspective of Love, a small part of us, like a seed, begins to grow. This seed of Love must be tended and nurtured, so it can grow. The traits of the ego will try to choke this part of us out, if we allow it, as the traits of ego are already fairly strong and well rooted in us and our world.

Love enhances us, makes us more by helping us grow, connects us and breaks down barriers between us, because through Love we realize the barriers really did not exist in the first place. Love shows us we are part of our environment and all that is around us. If you do not think this is true, think about how that part of you, which is more commonly known as the physical body, would survive without the environment. If there were no air, water, plants, etc., it is guaranteed you would not last for very long.

Ego, or more specifically, the traits of ego, diminish and consume us. A person who is driven by ego either does not care or cannot see who or what they hurt in obtaining their goal. Ego even has ways to make you think you are doing the best for all concerned, when in fact you are doing nothing but harm to everyone and everything.

Lust, arrogance, envy, hatred, anger, etc., all of these things will consume you, not only mentally, and emotionally, but physically as well. The ego perspective is in direct opposition to Love, and some who are being consumed by ego look upon Love as a weakness. Love is not a weakness, but from it come our greatest strengths, one of which is wisdom, our highest form of intelligence.

Most of us feel this Love in some small way, but some trait or traits of ego keep us from going any further. If we are to survive, changes need to be made, but change is very frightening to many people. Some will not want to give up what they consider their power or position, because they are afraid and do not know what they would do. They do not understand that what they consider their power is just an illusion to begin with. They only have as much power as they are given or we allow. Power can be taken away just as easily as it was given. Laws can be changed just as easily as they were made. A person cannot be a leader if no one chooses to follow them.

The Love within, once found, is the only leader/teacher you will ever need, though some need help finding and understanding this Love. Through Love, we will know how to treat each other, and the world around us. Think about it. If everyone acted from the perspective of Love, all of the bad things that happen, the destructive things some people do today, would not happen. We would not be able to bring ourselves to do them.

Now, admittedly, there are many people who are seemingly blind. They are so ego based that they only see whatever it is that they are after, be it money and power, drugs including alcohol and tobacco, sex, or whatever. Ego will also take your power to act for what is right from you by making you fearful. These ego-based people are a product of the ego based society, which in turn perpetuates their ego based viewpoint and behaviors and so on. This is the rather vicious circular trap. The author of this site is not naive enough to believe everyone would want a world as simple and as beautiful as the one proposed, or suggested by the Love perspective. A lot of people probably could not even conceive of such a world. Nor is the author of this site naive enough to believe these changes could happen overnight, nor would they be easy.

Also, there are others who have addictions which they may believe they do not want to escape from, or are unable to escape from. Some of these addictions could be from psychological inabilities to deal with what they have experienced in their lives, some by not getting proper nutrition, probably both. A lot of their experiences may be, without question, horrible. Then again, we are the ones who created a world where these things happen. There are as many variations in human experience as there are people, but each of us in our own way is searching for something higher.

Even if we are not consciously aware of it, each of us seems to be looking for that higher pure Love, expecting to be able to find it. When we do not find it, our outlook changes and we become, to varying degrees, cynical. We begin to believe this higher pure Love is just a fairy tale, or something we could never possibly achieve. We then look to find solace in whatever way we can.

Some try to amass large quantities of money, and with it, power. Perhaps they feel with enough money they can get whatever else they want. Some might try sex, because they are looking for that closeness, that connection to someone or something else. Some may try drugs (including alcohol and tobacco) because they are looking for a way to relax, hoping to find that inner peace, and also an altered state of consciousness. Some may turn to food, because it represents comfort, a better time, emotionally, something that is now lacking in their lives. There are other reasons people turn to these things, to be sure. For example, children and teenagers wanting to feel grown up by trying and getting hooked on cigarettes, alcohol, drugs (both prescription and nonprescription), sex, and so on. These are only some of the multitude of reasons why we do some of the things we do. It all comes down to this, we all feel this need, so we search and experiment, but finding what we are looking for in a world such as the ego based one we live in, is extremely hard.

None of these things that ego drives us to get will ever help us, in fact they take us farther from what it is we seek. Money and power are not the answer or those who have it would not have any problems. The only power you really need is the power to control yourself. The pure Love that you seek is beyond the need of a sexual expression. Drugs, alcohol, and smoking, all do harm to the body by overtaxing its systems with toxins. Food, in the wrong form does not give the body what it needs to rebuild itself properly, causing it to degenerate. Think of the body as a recipe. If you do not have all the ingredients, in the right form, in the right proportions, the results will not be what you wanted.

If we stay on the path we see from the perspective of ego, in an ego based world, we will always fall short of reaching what we really want. Ego will always tell us "you can't get there from here," and make us believe what we truly want is unachievable. The perspective of Love will show you the way and tell you that all things are possible.

Some people who have great monetary or material wealth would not want to give that up, not even to save their own lives. It is as much of a trap for some of them as drugs or alcohol to others. Some of them would not be able to see that in a world based on Love they would still have everything they need, and no doubt more. What would they be truly giving up? Well, for one, they would be giving up the ego perspective and all the damage to themselves and those around them that that entails. Could you be happy in a world such as the one we live in, with all the things wealth can give you, knowing there are people who cannot even afford the essentials of living?

This Love that you search for is not a fairy tale, nor is it something you cannot achieve. This Love that we all seek is inside of us. What keeps this Love from coming out and being expressed is the ego based systems and attitudes we have set up. Those who want this change, who want a world that will survive, will come together to make changes in the way we do things.

Look at it this way. Picture a world without ego, as we know all too well what an ego based world is like, we are living in one. Before we look, though, remember that we are the only reason the world is the way it is. The world can be any way we choose to make it, all we have to do is commit to making it that way. If we believe something to be pie in the sky, it will be, because we refuse to change to make it a reality. We are the only ones standing in our way. That having been said, let us look at how things might be. A world where people see things through the eyes of Love.

People would live in small villages, so as not to overburden the ecological balance, and to live in harmony with nature. They look at each other and nature with respect and not as a means to get what they want, as nature generously supplies their needs. Everyone gladly and willingly helps everyone else, to make the tasks of life easier and more pleasant. Whatever is wanted, needed or required in regard to food, shelter, or clothing is freely available. The Love that resonates within the people of this world brings out the very best in them, and there are no strangers. They do not pollute the air, the water, or the soil, as this would not only harm everything around them but themselves as well. There are no wars, because everyone is a brother or a sister. There is no disease, as their bodies do not degenerate due to poor nutrition (covered more thoroughly in the health and diet section). There is no hunger, because food grows abundantly all around them. There is no poverty, as everything is readily available and freely given. There is no overpopulation, as a realization of greater and higher things is achieved. There is no crime, as brains have become fully functional with a diet that balances all brain chemistry. They have learned that their bodies are made from the food they eat. They therefore ensure the plants that supply them their food have all the organic nutritional requirements they need to grow strong and healthy. There is no money, because there is no need for any. Gold and silver are just metals, and gemstones (diamonds, rubies, etc.) are just stones. There is no government, because none is needed. There are only representatives who meet to find out if the village in which they live can, in some way, help any of the others, or get help, if they have a need. People can travel freely about their world and experience life in different areas, meeting and greeting others without fear or reservation.

We all have been programmed by the societies and cultures we grew up in. Each of us views the world through these biases. A person who has traveled extensively is generally looked upon as more sophisticated as they have shed some of their biases through their experiences with other cultures. Love knows no biases, knows no race, knows no country, and holds no beliefs other than in itself. Love does not recognize male from female because at the most important level we are all the same.

If you believe Love is a sign of weakness, ask yourself this: Which does it take more strength and courage to do, come together with others of like mind and make this change in the midst of our unstable and violent world, or to continue to pollute, kill, and destroy because we choose to see things from the perspective of ego? Some might believe this sort of change is impossible, and it is, for those who believe that it cannot be done. If you never start a journey or a change, you will never get where you are going, or the change will never happen.

Love means doing what is right. Love means not basing decisions on selfish gain at the expense of others or the environment. Love also means looking at yourself with a critical, but forgiving eye, and making changes where they are needed. A lot of us, it seems, are just too lazy to even try, or be bothered by doing what is right. We wait for someone else to fix the problem, but what do we do if we are the problem. We are the only ones who can change ourselves. Just because something has been done a certain way for a long time, does not mean it is right. The world needs a lot of work, and its changes must be done with forethought. The damage we continue to do must be stopped, and the damage we have done must be repaired. There are much better ways of doing things.
