Conclusion

If you come from the perspective of ego, what it boils down to is this:

  1. You are going to believe whatever you are led to believe based on your desires.
  2. You are going to do whatever it is your desires lead you to do, even if you forfeit your own life and the lives of others in the process.
  3. You will do all the mental gymnastics you can to justify whatever it is your desires want you to do, to achieve whatever it is you believe you want.

If you do not believe people are like this, think about the things mentioned on this website. The pollution of our air, water, and soil, to make money. War is really self explanatory, as it does harm to everything it touches. People who are so consumed with the desire for sex that they risk contracting and transmitting diseases, some lethal. Some people who literally tear themselves apart with drugs (both prescription and non-prescription, legal and illegal), alcohol (all ingestible forms), smoking (marijuana, crack cocaine, cigarettes, etc.) and/or processed food. Does this make sense to you?

Each of us, no matter who we are, how much we have, rich, poor, it does not matter, can continue doing things that are wrong. If we do continue doing things that are wrong, we cannot expect to escape the consequences of our actions.

The whole point is, if we stop deceiving ourselves and really look, we will see that we are gradually killing ourselves, and for what? If and when we finally come to these realizations about ego and why we do the things we do, we will honestly search inside ourselves and find this Love. For if we truly Love ourselves and others, we will know the truth of what we are doing. Once this truth is known, no amount of finagling is going to change it. You may have heard someone say, "Well, that might be true for you." as if the same thing is not true for them. This may be true of insignificant matters, but there are some things that are true for all people. We all need good nutritious food to eat, clean air to breath, and clean water to drink. These things are a part of us we cannot deny.

Belief systems have been talked about throughout this site, but with barely a mention of religion. The reason is because, what we profess to believe in, and what we actually believe, are two different things. Religion these days seems to be something relegated to ritual and ceremony one day a week, if you really do believe in spiritual things, then everything you do, every word you speak, every thought you have is an act of the spirit. Love is what all the people of the past, after whose teachings some of the world's religions were patterned, were talking about. They spoke about a way of living, a way of being, a way of thinking, and that way was Love. The ego is what they were trying to warn us against. If we truly Loved ourselves and one another we would not do a lot of the things we do. We would not have done the things world history describes. A history so graphically written in not only human blood, but the blood of animals and plants that are extinct or on the verge of extinction. If we truly find this Love within, we will then search out and find what are the right things to do and do them no matter what. This world we live in now, as things are, one person alone trying to do all that is right, would find it hard to survive. If those who find this Love, seek out others who view the world with the same perspective, they might come together and be able to form communities where what is right is possible.

If some of what is written on this site makes you angry, where does your anger come from? What is it that you would disagree with so violently that anger rises in you. Is it an awakening of what is going on around you? As stated before, anger truly doesn't do anything but harm you, takes away your ability to think clearly, and consumes you.

If you do not believe what is written here, why? Do you deny that pollution exists, or are you ready to defend pollution and the destruction of the environment, war, crime, disease, poverty, etc.? Perhaps you are defending the causes of these things, such as arrogance, hate, greed, anger, lust, deceit, vanity, fear, selfishness, etc.. Perhaps you believe that these things are not the cause of our problems. Well then, what do you think is?

We have a chance, with each thought we think, with each word we speak, with each action we take, to make this a better world. The choice is ours. With the right choice, these horrible times will eventually be only memories. With the wrong choice, in time there will not be anyone left to remember anything. Killing, hurting, and destroying is the work of cowards and fools. Sometimes these acts are carried out by the mindless zombies or the sheep who follow these ego dominated "leaders". These seemingly mindless followers don't have enough courage or strength of mind, by themselves, to take a stand against these atrocities. These "leaders" who perpetrate these horrors are people whose intellects cannot, or will not, see beyond the confines of the prison of their own desires. Why have we sunk so low as to put more into designing weapons to kill one another, than in finding ways to truly better our world? It does not take anyone special to pull a trigger, or push a button to destroy, including by polluting or poisoning, but it does take a very special person to create, by their thoughts, words and actions, an environment that is in harmony with all things. Which kind of person do you choose to be? What is your choice? One person alone with the Love perspective cannot change the damage that has been done, but perhaps when that person is joined with others who have the same perspective, anything is possible.

Ego is the cause of the "I" syndrome ( I want ), making us feel separate and alone, or telling us we can run things better our own way. Ego acts only for the self. Love helps you to realize that there is no self, that we cannot be separate, for as soon as one person affects another person for good or ill, they are joined by that experience. In witnessing or even hearing of their experience we are then joined to them, and that makes us a "we". If the experience was through Love and good we all benefit, if the experience was caused by the traits of ego, therefore bad, we all suffer, for we are all one.

If you have gone through this site and do not see or believe that you could possibly be a part of what is wrong in the world, what part of you is telling you this? Look very hard and honestly at yourself, do not worry about anyone else, for you cannot change anyone but yourself. If you think, saying to yourself "I don't do any of those things." remember the "I" syndrome and consider it carefully. Here are some examples, do you buy alcohol (hard liquor, beer, wine)? This may seem overly harsh, but by doing so you support an industry that is responsible for producing a product that kills either directly or indirectly thousands of people every year. According to CNN Interactive Between 1982 and 1993, there were 266,291 deaths in the United States alone that were alcohol-related -- one fatality every 30 minutes. Do you use products like hair spray, deodorant, nail polish, lotions or colognes and or perfumes? You may not realize it, but many of these products contain chemicals called phthalates (thalates), which can be absorbed through the skin, inhaled as fumes, or ingested, and have been shown to cause damage to the liver, kidneys, lungs, and the reproductive system, especially in the developing male fetus. Looking at the label will not help, as it is not always listed. Virtually all Americans tested by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) had phthalates in their systems, but the highest levels were found in women of childbearing age. These are just two of a multitude of examples of things we do, invisible parts of The Trap, which make us part of the problem. Phthalates, alcohol, tobacco, and drugs are just some of the problems that are hurting and killing us, while supporting the industries that produce them. If you want to know more, email me or go through the resources page.

This site was put up not out of a fear for humanity as some believe, nor to teach, but merely as a supplication for us to become the people we could be if we would only choose to be. To point to the true teacher within, Love. This site was written out of and from this Love to perhaps help open the eyes of those who have the courage to open them. This Love, which is spoken of on this site, is not weakness as some seem to believe, but in fact it is our greatest strength, bestowing wisdom, peace, understanding, compassion, kindness, truth, humility, forgiveness, happiness/joy, patience, gratefulness, and self control on those who diligently seek and find it.

Please tell me what you think of what you read here, it would help me to make things more understandable. This site was only put up as a beginning, there is much more that could be said, but that I will leave for discussions with those who wish to know more. I invite you to email me your comments, questions, or suggestions. If you believe what is written here is crazy, it is okay tell me. I want you to tell me, but don't just say it's crazy, tell me why you think it's crazy.  Either way it is my wish that you find the peace you seek.
